Reedsburg Youth Hockey Association was founded in 1971. In 1986 RYHA
(Reedsburg Youth Hockey Association) built RACA (Reedsburg Area Community Arena) with major funds from the Nishan
Trust and money solicited by RYHA. Membership in RYHA in 1972 was 35, in 1996 it was 112, 1999 was 108 and the
2000-2001 season was 117. This does not include the junior varsity or varsity high school participants.
The purpose of the program is to teach and improve ice hockey in the Reedsburg area, to allow
any interested youth an equal opportunity to participate and to provide an enjoyable learning experience of hockey,
sportsmanship, team effort and dedication. RYHA is a member of the Wisconsin-Minnesota
Hockey League (WMHL), the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA), the Wisconsin Amateur Hockey
Association (WAHA) and USA Hockey.

Required Forms
The following forms are required for registration. Please print them off and bring with you when you register.
While we look forward with anticipation for Christmas Day, it means that the time for RWD to switch home rinks is just around the corner. Tuesday, December 15th, will be the final Reedsburg home game for RWD in the 2009-10 hockey season. There will be two events at the rink that evening.
The first event will be Reedsburg Youth Night. Reedsburg youth players, who wear their jerseys, will be admitted free to the game on December 15th. The Learn-to-Play skaters, Mites and Squirts will be introduced between the first and second periods. The Peewees and Bantams will be introduced between the second and third periods.
The second event is RWD Senior Night. This is the final game in Reedsburg for these young men and we want to say thank you for their hard work and dedication. They will be introduced between the second and third period.
Please come to the game and recognize the players and cheer them on in the final RWD game in Reedsburg this season.

Rink Crew Fundraiser

There will be a cook-out held in the Zamboni Room on Monday, November 9th. The money will be used for funds to help the rink crew in maintaining the rink. Hot dogs and brats will be available starting at 6:00 PM.

Mike Lennon, a 2008 graduate of RAHS, is playing hockey in Dryden, Ontario. Mike is one of two Wisconsin players on the team. The other player is Kyle Heck of Plover, WI. The Ice Dogs are a member of the Superior International Junior Hockey League and the Canadian Junior Hockey League. The other teams participating in the league are:

On September 22nd, Dryden opened their season with a road game against the Sioux Lookout Flyers. Lennon scored the first goal of the game 1 minute 14 seconds into the first period. Mike picked up an assist as the Flyers fell behind 2-0 with 17 minutes and 33 seconds remaining in the first period. Kyle Heck of Plover scored the fourth goal for Dryden 9 minutes 50 seconds into the first period. The Ice Dogs went on to win the game 9-1.
The Ice Dogs have played four games so far this season and currently have a 3-1 record. Mike Lennon has 1 goal and 3 assists, while Kyle Heck has 2 goals and 2 assists.
Dryden will be traveling to Wisconsin for a pair of games on Saturday, November 28th and Sunday, November 29th to play the Wisconsin Mustangs. They will be playing at the Northwest Sports Complex in Spooner. Both games are currently scheduled to start at 7:30 PM.

The 2009-10 school year will be starting on Tuesday, September 1st and that means registration for the 2009-10 hockey season is just around the corner. Anyone interested in playing hockey for the 2009-10 season from ages 4 (Learn-to-Skate) through high school are asked to come register.

WAHA Night at Miller Park on Tuesday, September 8th. The Brewers will be taking on the St. Louis Cardinals (hopefully in a push to make the playoffs) with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 PM. Great way to celebrate the kids being back in school and one week prior to Reedsburg Hockey Registration.

The Reedsburg-Wisconsin Dells Boys High School hockey team will be hosting a golf fund raiser on Friday, August 14th. The event will be held at the Chula Vista/Coldwater Canyon golf course. It will be a shotgun start at 12:00 PM. There will be more information soon about hole pirzes, door prizes , etc. The cost will be $75.00 per person. This will include dinner, 18 holes of golf and cart. Please watch for more information on how to participate.
